Happy Liberation Day to those who celebrate! If you were sick and tired of lower costs on everything from consumer goods to core raw materials and components essential for climate tech, today is your day!

Good news for Beijing’s relative power and influence, especially if Europe and soon to be former US allies in the rest of Asia accelerate a decoupling from US supply chains and go with the obvious new partner in China. Bad news if you think climate change is bad and understand higher trade tariffs will slow the energy transition and the adoption of mitigation and adaptation tech: for decarbonising industry, transport, electricity, and heating; reinforcing power grids; amongst others. Great news if you are excited about the new line of attack from Trump and the global populist right: climate change is good, actually.
